Visiting Team Recommends RCS for Highest Level of Accreditation
Submitted by Alyssa Kiefer in RCS Highlights on May 21, 2018
During April 8th – 11th, 2018, a team of school accreditors from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) facilitated a school-wide accreditation. Redwood Christian Schools administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents all played a part in providing evidence and review of the inner workings of the school from finances to curriculum to the Biblical foundation of the school. Based on its extensive research, interviews, and personally examining the school in operation, the accrediting team recommended RCS for the highest possible level of accreditation, with a midterm visit in three years.
Accreditation is an extremely important process of being verified as a credible and authentic educational institution. Through a peer review process, accreditors gather evidence to validate the school holistically. This recommendation establishes reputation and legitimacy of the core values, mission, and curriculum of RCS. In the 1979-1980 school year, RCS was accredited by both ACSI and WASC for the first time, and we have been fully accredited ever since!
