Submitted by Alyssa Kiefer in RCS Highlights on January 20, 2018
On January 11, Redwood Christian Schools Superintendent Al Hearne was elected to the Board of Christian Charities USA.
Christian Charities USA is a diverse group of more than seventy-five national and international charities working together to relieve suffering and despair. Member organizations include Habitat for Humanity, World Impact, Youth for Christ International and Away with Human Trafficking and Sex Slavery. CCUSA (www.ccusa.org) member charities are dedicated to work in every area of our country and the world to ease the suffering of people who could use a helping hand: physically, mentally, and spiritually.
“CCUSA is governed by a board of directors that includes representatives from member charities, donor groups, and other constituencies. All board members are volunteers serving without compensation. The board of directors oversees the administration of services to CCUSA member agencies and ensures that high eligibility standards are maintained.” (https://ccusa.org/about/)
We are excited for the impact our Superintendent will have as a new board member and proud of his efforts to support an organization that brings together the most impacting and significant charities under one federation. Mr. Hearne and the CCUSA come together to create hope, advocate for basic human rights, strengthen families, reduce poverty, provide emergency and disaster relief, build communities at home and abroad and much more.
