Devotional Thought:
The alarm clock goes off, and you are frantically trying to get the kids up and ready for school. You scream at the cat who just ran outside while you were taking things to the car to leave by 6:45 am. Oh yeah, and don’t forget to whip them up a delicious, nutritious breakfast. This is how my mornings go. Trying to beat the clock, and beat the traffic.
Unfortunately, many days I have forgotten to spend time with God, to “Seek His Face.” To sit and read His Word, pray, and just be in His presence. The Scripture says in Psalms 27:8, “… ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, Lord, do I seek.'” I need to start my day giving Him my time and looking for His peace to last me the rest of the day. Every time I do this first thing, my mornings and days are much more peaceful.

In Christ, Mrs. Bibby, Director of RCS Homeschool

“Fabulous Five” As Reported By RCS Teachers:

I have asked each teacher to let me know the most fabulous thing that happened at RCS in the last week. On Tuesday mornings, Mr. Huemoeller, Mr. Warner, and I go through them and pick the “Fabulous Five” to share with parents.

  1. Miss Masin reports: Using a few tips from ACSI Professional Development Forum seminar “The Supportive Classroom.” I am already seeing some improvement in kindergartners’ small-motor skills (handwriting and
    coloring).
  2. Mrs. Bibby reports: A student presented an example of positive and negative charge with just a straw, in front of class.
  3. Mrs. Moog reports: We have a new student in 2nd grade that just transferred in, and after his second day in a row coming to PE this week, he asked me, “We have PE everyday here?” To which I enthusiastically answered, “Yes!” And he said, “That is so cool, I love this school! My old school only had PE one day a week!” …Music to my PE Teacher ears! Click Here
  4. Miss Sierra reports: We did the impulse lab, crashing different kinds of balls to see how far they will go = momentum! I have the mash up video in the science folder. Click Here
  5. Mrs. Hendren reports: RCS packed an equivalent of 23,000 meals today, packing apples, kiwi, carrots, potatoes, and breads at the Alameda County Food Bank. These meals will bless families in a day or two.
