Mr. Hearne’s Recommended Resources:
Glenn Schultz, a retired Christian school superintendent, states, “Children are God’s homework for parents.” As parents we naturally want what is best for our children. We naturally want to set them up on the road for success. The goal isn’t success today, it’s for our children to be successful adults, people of character, serving God, and providing for their own families. My first two resources this week are for fathers, and they both come from Focus on the Family. First, for dads of daughters, here is an excellent transcript of a radio broadcast, “Being Your Daughter’s Hero“. It discusses how daughters can grow through interactions with their dads. Second, for dads of sons, here is a two-part podcast: “Raising Sons to Be Honorable Men“. It discusses how sons need for their dads to help them define character traits with positive, real life examples. As always, the third resource is the Axis “Cultural Translator“.
