Devotional Thought:

In Romans 13:8-10, Paul is writing regarding Old Testament law, specifically the Ten Commandments. He reminds his readers of the commandments the Israelites had to live by. Specifically, he references the laws about not murdering, stealing, coveting, or committing adultery. Paul does an excellent job of giving us a tangible display of how Christ came to fulfill the law. There are movements to abandon Old Testament law, but it provides a standard for us and shows us what Christ came to fulfill. Paul provides us with an answer that can be applied to life: love your neighbor. By fulfilling the new law of loving one another as Christ has loved us, we too can fulfill the law. Loving your neighbor as yourself, seeking the better welfare of others before our own, provides us with an opportunity to share Christ’s love through our actions.

  1. Mr. Cagle reports, “Congratulations to our HS Choirs for receiving a COMMAND rating at the ACSI Musicale!!! They were one of the top choirs selected to sing at the festival performance. I am so proud of them for their hard work. It was awesome hearing them glorify the Lord as they sang “Baba Yetu” (The Lord’s Prayer in Swahili)!” Click Here
  2. Mr. Gillette reports, “Caleb Francis’s hand drawn picture for the Xerxes’ garden court was just one of a number of find efforts by 6th Grade World History students this past week.”
  3. Miss Humphreys reports, “6th graders have been learning how to find the area of different polygons and we focused on trapezoids. Students rolled 3 dice and made one the height and the other two the bases. They drew the figure and found the area of their trapezoid based off of their units.”
  4. Mrs. Haserot reports, “In 2nd grade, students are using the iPads to research a storm and create a poster to share with the class. A great research app for kids
    is Kidtopia. “
  5. Miss Orluck reports, “It is exciting to see how students in 1O are “taking off” in their reading as they apply the phonetic sounds and rules to their decoding of words.”
