Devotional Thought:
Luke 10:27: “And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
This verse tells us how loving God works in progression. We must first love God with all of our heart so that the Holy Spirit can permeate our innermost being. Loving God with all of our soul follows where our volition is undergirded with all of our strength so that we pursue our love for God in the mightiest way. Loving God with all of our heart, soul and strength allows for the transformation and renewal of our minds so that we will think in a way that shows and demonstrates to God our love and devotion. Once we are in step with loving God with our whole being, we are able to transfer that love to others where we put into practice loving our neighbor as we would ourselves. What a fantastic honor it is to be part of God’s kingdom as we love God with our “everything.”
In Christ, Curt Russell, Director of Instructional Development

SB 1146 Update:
We emailed RCS parents about SB 1146 back during the summer, the proposed bill restricting religious liberty- of private, religious colleges. The collective efforts of religious liberty minded people and organizations have paid off. The bill was amended to allow private, religious colleges to continue to educate students based upon their mission statement. For more information, click here for an excellent summary from Christianity Today.
RCS Electives:
Electives will officially begin on the RCE campus on Tuesday, August 30th. The electives offered to students for the 2016-17 school year will be:

- Robotics
- Royal Choir (full school year)

- Study Hall
- Students will be able to choose a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice for each quarter.
“Fabulous Five” As Reported By RCS Teachers:
I have asked each teacher to let me know the most fabulous thing that happened at RCS in the last week. On Tuesday mornings, Mr. Huemoeller, Mr. Warner, and I go through them and pick the “Fabulous Five” to share with parents.
Mr. Hendren – I was really excited to see so many students in AP World History this year; they are really taking up the challenge of a class that is really 4 years ahead of their grade level. Despite their anxiety there was definitely a sense of determination.
Mrs. Conley – A second grader who gets lost in a book so much she lets out delightful giggles, states after 30 minutes “I wish I could read longer.” Our quiet reading time is actually quiet (except for her occasional giggle!)
Mr. Huemoeller – The opportunity to pray with families, in our parking lot, on the first day of school.
