Devotional Thought:

Psalm 119 is one of my favorite chapters of the Bible because it is focused upon God’s Word. The entire Psalm speaks to the fact that God’s Word is for all people of all time. Each verse focuses the reader upon God’s Word by describing Scripture as either God’s: word, judgment, law, commandments, precepts, statues, and testimonies. Here in verse 167, God’s testimonies are so known to the Psalmist that they are kept in his soul. This means that God’s Word is so deeply ingrained in the Psalmist’s life, heart and mind, that it is a daily, moment-by-moment reality. God’s testimonies are always present, always active, always working. So much so that the Psalmist does not just love them, he loves them exceedingly. God’s testimonies are interwoven into the fabric of the Psalmist’s life. It is my prayer that everyone at RCS loves God’s Word like this as well.

Parents, my three resources this week focus on a question that all of your children are asking, “Who Am I?” The only correct answer to this question is, I am a child of God, I am a sister/brother of Christ, I am adopted by God, I am a member of God’s family. Yet the world offers us so many different answers, none of which is good for our mental health. Although Social Media can be a positive experience, more and more research is coming out that shows the harmful effects Social Media has on our children today. Axis will introduce you to the harm that Social Media can do. The video, “Status of Mind,” shows how social media is impacting our students. The article, “Reflected Glory,” explains what it means to be made in God’s image, which is from where we should draw our identity.

“Fabulous Five” As Reported By RCS Teachers:

  1. Mrs. Haserot reports, “It was exciting to see my students embrace challenges in 2nd grade with a Growth Mindset. Hearing them use the language of the “Power of Yet” was incredible.” #growthmindset
  2. Mr. Wilcox reports, “The opportunity I had to work with students in the junior class all year in chemistry was awesome. Having weekly lab the second semester was a true joy.” Click Here
  3. Miss Humphreys reports, “I enjoyed watching my 8th grade Algebra 1 students get excited about seeing algebra used in real life situations. Making those connections was great!”
  4.  Mr. Blatchford reports, “Biology students have grown in knowledge and in wisdom. They have begun to equip themselves with scientific skills and critical thinking which will help them tackle difficult topics and choices in their future,
be it abortion, the origins of life, or even stem cell research.”
  5. Miss Masin reports, “The most fabulous thing this year was watching each student in my class move along his/her individual path from kindergarten to mature first grader. Yesterday, I overheard a child reading aloud the Growth Mindset bulletin board – which has been up from Day 1 but now they can read and understand it!”

Matthew 6:9-13 – The Lord’s Prayer
“9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
