Devotional Thought:

This one short verse in the longest chapter (176 verses) of the Bible encapsulates the theme of the entire chapter. It is also the description that God gave for why he chose this author to lead His chosen people, and it ought to serve as the theme for our lives today. The theme is the Word of God. Our soul refers to the treasure box where we store what is most precious to us. Your most valuable possessions are locked in this treasure box and David declares that his treasure box contains the words of God. David declares that he loves the words of God to the point that he would sooner die than to allow the enemy to steal those testimonies from his treasure box. The Gospel is that Christ died for us and loved us this much; we are His treasure if we are saved, so how will you respond to God? Will you love God and make His Word the basis for the way you live life and the way in which you lead those He has placed under your care?

In Christ, Albert Castaneda, MSHS Assistant Principal / Director of AAP
