Devotional Thought:

Romans 12:2 follows on the heels of declaring that God is merciful and that we are to present ourselves as holy (sacred) and acceptable to God. Thus verse 1 ends by informing us that this is the only way to come before God and spiritually worship Him now are given instructions on how to be holy. 1) Don’t love this world or practice the ways of those not holy. 2) Let God transform you; pass your thoughts through the strainer of God’s Word, the Bible. We are told that testing our thoughts helps us to learn what God’s will is for our lives. So, are you willing to do the hard work of thinking? We often push our children/students to think, but are we as parents thinking and testing our own thoughts according to the paradigm of a merciful God who is holy and pure and demands His people to live likewise?
