Week 4: Intermediate Chess Camp
Grades: Entering 4th – 6th Grade
Dates: Monday, June 17 – Thursday, June 20

Coach Jolly Chen is an experienced chess instructor who has taught chess to children of all ages. He has taught classes and chess camps with the Berkeley Chess School, Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD), City of Dublin, homeschool groups, and church groups. In high school, Coach Chen was a nationally ranked player for his age. He still actively plays online at chess.com where his blitz rating places him in the 97th percentile of over a million players.
What to Expect from this Camp
REC invites beginning chess players to learn the fun and strategic game of Chess! This camp is perfect for players who know the basic moves of Chess and want to advance their game. Campers will learn more advanced strategies and how to anticipate their opponent’s moves.
