Baseball
Eagles’ Baseball Camp
DATES: July 12-14

Description
Campers will learn the fundamental principles of the game of baseball. Campers will work on throwing, catching, hitting, fielding and basic pitching mechanics. Although not required, past experience playing baseball will complement competitive drills organized within skill-appropriate groups. Campers are recommended to bring their own bats, helmets and gloves although we do have some equipment to borrow. Cleats are not required but highly recommended especially on the infield dirt.
Coach Bio
Coach Geronimo and Coach Skjong are the current coaches for the middle and high school baseball programs at RCS. Coach Geronimo has been involved in coaching baseball for the past 18 years, from little league to high school levels. Coach Geronimo currently is the JV Head Coach and an assistant on the Varsity team at RCS.

Description

Coach Bio
Coach Jourdan has played or coached basketball almost his entire life, starting at age 5. He has played Division 1 college basketball. He is a former coach of the Golden State Warriors Camps Academy and currently is the director and head coach of “Off the Dribble” AAU Team and Skills Training Group.
Flag Football
Eagles’ Flag Football Camp

Description
Campers will learn the basic principles of the game of flag football. They will utilize basic physical skills and participate in competitive drills organized within age/skill appropriate groups. Campers must wear athletic attire (t-shirt, shorts/sweats) and athletic shoes (cleats not required). Mouth guard is recommended. Personal water bottle required.
Coach Bio
Coach Faumuina has been playing and coaching football for the past 30 years. His playing experience includes high school football and rugby; football at Sacramento City College, through to a season of professional arena football. He has coached high school teams and currently coaches for the 10U West Coast Islanders. Coach Faumuina is proud to be currently training five Division 1 collegiate football players who are on full football scholarships.
Kenpo
Eagles’ Kenpo Camp

Description
Kenpo is a practical and effective martial arts system, with an emphasis on self-defense. Campers will learn the basics of Kenpo martial arts; including stances, blocks, strikes, and kicks, culminating with the learning of self-defense techniques and their applications. They will also benefit from the many by-products of practicing Kenpo, including focus, balance, hand-eye coordination, self-discipline, self-control, self-confidence, self-awareness, problem-solving and overall fitness and conditioning. In addition, campers will also learn about safety awareness.
Coach Bio
Coach Dong is a current RCS substitute teacher and has a black belt in Kenpo. His over 15 years of collective experience in martial arts has given him the expertise in this discipline necessary to teach it to others.
Soccer

Description
Campers will learn the basic principles of the game of soccer. They will utilize basic physical skills and participate in competitive drills organized within age/skill appropriate groups. Small group competitions and large group games will be included as part of the camp.
Coach Bio
Coach Castillo and Buenrostro are the current high school Varsity girls’ and JV boys’ soccer coaches at RCS. Their combined experience will be used to help develop the campers’ soccer skills. Last summer, the pair led a successful soccer camp with international soccer player Eduardo Lillingston.
Softball

Coach Bio
Coach Hendren is a current teacher/administrator at Redwood Christian Schools and the Head Middle School girls’ softball coach. She has led several camps for the RCS softball program utilizing varsity players as assistant coaches.
Tennis
Eagles’ Tennis Camp

Weight Training
Eagles’ Weight Training Camp

Description
Athletes will work with Coach Bibby on proper techniques of weight training. Coach Bibby will set athletes’ individual weight training goals, teach safe and proper technique to get them ready for their seasons.
NOTE: This camp is open to incoming 9th graders and current Redwood Christian High School JV/Varsity Athletes ONLY.
Coach Bio
Coach Bibby is an experienced and current athletic trainer/coach at RCS. He has a background as an EMT and student in sports sciences (kinesiology). This coupled with a wide sports background makes him the ideal coach for this camp.
STEAM Camps
Art
Eagles’ Art Camp
DATES: June 12-16

Description
Students will engage in various art projects including stamp making and printing. They will learn new skills regarding art structure, drawing, imprinting and printing with paint and ink. At the conclusion of the week, students will bring home their art projects and any unused supplies. Please have your child bring an old t-shirt on the first day to serve as his/her class apron.
Coach Bio
Miss Moog is a teacher at Redwood Christian Schools with experience in art and creative crafts. She loves teaching art to elementary students and her favorite artistic hobby is sewing and knitting.
Chess
Eagles’ Chess Camp
DATES: June 5-9

Description
Students will engage in this strategic game and compete against one another. Some experience required as this camp IS NOT for beginners. They will learn new tactics and competitive perspectives. At the conclusion of the week, students compete in a tournament to test their skills against one another. Camp includes a chess workbook and take-home chess set.
Coach Bio
Coach Chen is an experienced chess instructor who has taught chess to children of all ages. He has taught classes and camps with the Berkeley Chess School, Hayward Area Recreation Department (HARD), City of Dublin and various homeschool and church camps. In high school, he was a nationally ranked player for his age. He still plays online at chess.com where his blitz rating places him in the 99th percentile of over 6 million players. He earned his Masters Degree in Computer Science from MIT.
Debate
Eagles’ Debate Camp

Description
This camp will be a combination of lessons with activities to help solidify the teaching. The camp will be fun, interactive, and at times competitive. This camp will explore the world of “Team Policy” Debate as campers will argue policy as if they were in Congress. Campers will learn proper framework to evaluate government policy and apply logic and research to policy issues. A manual will be provided along with all items needed for the activities. Campers will learn how to reason and communicate more effectively, all while having a great time.
NOTE: Students registered for both Debate and Speech camps will receive a discount as listed in the pricing chart. A $100 refund will be made. Students must bring a lunch and appropriate snacks for the day.

Coach Eschen is the executive director of the Institute for Principle Studies (IPS). He brings with him a background in business, church leadership and teaching. Coach Eschen has been part of the speech and debate community for over 10 years as a community judge, parent, and now coach. Coach Vaughan is a certified trainer and speech/debate coach. He has led camps throughout the United States and now has private online students, coaching them through the competitive debate season.

LEGO Robotics
Beginning Robotics Camp

This camp is designed to introduce your camper to the exciting world of robotics using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3. Over the course of the camp, students will learn the basics of robotics, including programming, building, and testing their own robots. Campers will work with partners to complete a variety of fun and engaging challenges that will put new skills to the test. The programming environment will be based on the Scratch graphical language. This camp does not assume any familiarity with programming or LEGO MINDSTORMS..
Intermediate Robotics Camp
DATES: June 19-23

Description
This camp is intended for students that have taken the robotics elective at RCE or have equivalent experience. This camp will use LEGO SPIKE Prime sets and cover topics such as advanced line following algorithms, advanced attachment design, debugging techniques, designing a robot to be robust, My Blocks/tasks for code re-use, gyro sensors, and logic operations. Besides the Scratch graphical language, students will be introduced to programming the robot in the Python language. Campers will tackle actual missions from the 2022 FIRST LEGO League SUPERPOWERED season on the competition table as well as some custom missions like shooting a ball. Campers can also work on independent projects.
Intermediate Robotics Camp

Coach Bio
Coach Warneke is the mother of six children, the five oldest of whom have participated on FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams. She founded the robotics elective at RCE and taught it for the first three years and most recently has coached the RCMS FLL team for the last two years. Coach Warneke received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the UC Berkeley. She will be assisted by two of her sons who were RCMS FLL team members for four seasons. This last season they were student mentors to the team.
