Create the perfect summer camp based on your child’s interests!

WHAT: Redwood Eagles Camp (REC) is a summer-long enrichment program offered to both current and non-RCS students designed with thematic weeks to challenge and support your child’s many interests. Our camps are for students entering grades 1 – 10th (grade as of Fall 2020) and will focus on the fundamental skills of various activities and incorporate fun, engaging games to reinforce camper learning.

WHO: Led by Patrick Lee, Director of Specialized Programs at Redwood Christian Schools, our REC program utilizes many of the talents and specialties of teachers and coaches at RCS. All adult and high school student staff are vetted through our application process and will be directly supervised by current RCS teachers, coaches and/or staff. Our staff to camper ratio is 1:20 but we endeavor to lower this ratio as appropriate to the themed week.

WHERE: Summer REC will be held at the RCS Middle School & High School campus located in San Lorenzo (exceptions TBA). This campus provides campers with plenty of outdoor space as well as a new, state-of-the-art gymnasium. Classrooms will also be used to provide indoor teaching and activities as appropriate.

NEW REGISTRATION POLICIES: All new registrations for our Summer REC camps are still being accepted, but payment will not be required until one week before the scheduled camp.  Summer REC (and CARE) will make confirmation or cancellation announcements for camps two weeks before camp start date. At that time, registered parents will have the opportunity to confirm or cancel their attendance.

Registration timeline & cancellation policy:

Should we have to cancel, campers who have already paid will receive a FULL refund (the $10 non-refundable fee has been waived). Or if you choose to cancel, we will still offer a FULL refund as long as it is within one week of the camp start date.  Again, registrations received after 4/22/20 are considered “reservations” and will not be charged. at the time of sign up.

  1. Register now until one week before camp start date
  2. Two weeks before camp date, you will receive an email to either cancel camp (if we cannot gather) OR confirm your spot (payment will be requested at that time).
  3. You must cancel your reservation 8 days or more before camp start date or charges will be incurred.
  4. One week before camp date, a second confirmation email will be sent confirming your spot and giving camp details (what to bring, drop off/pick up, etc.)

Costs:

All camp and care costs are listed in the registration form (below) and will be charged two weeks before camp start date if camp can be held.

Week 7 : Baseball Camp I – All Skills Dates: Monday, July 6 - Thursday, July 9 What to Expect from this Camp:
In order to comply with the current Alameda County Public Health Department directives for operating summer camps we are modifying the previously advertised RCS baseball camp to fit these guidelines.  The RCS baseball Camp activities will be conducted in cohorts (a cohort consists of up to 12 students with same teacher or coach; those within one cohort do not have to always practice social distancing from their other cohort members yet they must practice social distancing from all others who are not a part of their cohort).  Social distancing is recommended but not required for contact sports, however during camp we will be adhering to drills and activities where possible that maintain distancing.  In addition, because Alameda County Public Health Department and the CDC recommend that outdoor activities are safest, RCS is beginning with outdoor sports.  We will be following best practices and guidelines set forth by the CDC and the Alameda County Public Health Department to provide a safe environment during camp.  If you join the RCS baseball camp that is the only camp or recreational group activity you should be a part of for that week.
Baseball Camp Session Changes:   We will now be running only all skills camps for ages 10-14.  (See camp brochure for details about the camp.)   If you previously signed up and you are outside this age range your camp fees will be refunded.  If you were signed up for multiple sessions those extra fees will also be refunded.  Because of the limited space in our camps we have had to limit the age groups allowed to attend.  We will be offering three cohorts (groups) of 12 campers that will start at staggered times so that cohorts can maintain distancing when arriving and leaving camp.  Cohorts will be organized by age and move together around the field to work on different baseball skills.  We will tailor the instruction to fit the ability level of each group and participant within the group.   Each camp session will be for 2 hours and 15 min. starting at these times:   Cohort 1  9:00 a.m. -  11:15 a.m. Cohort 2  9:15 a.m. -  11:30 a.m. Cohort 3  9:30 a.m. -  11:45 a.m.
