What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?

Junior English, Honors Junior English, Creative Writing, AAP English 11-12, AAP Reading , Junior English Advisor

What do you love about Redwood Christian Schools?

Jesus is the head of what we do.

Why do you like teaching at RCS?

That I get to be myself in the classroom, I can share my love for Literature and my love for Jesus.

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to shape the overall experience of students at RCS?

I am able to use my love of film to help my students gain understanding in the literature they read.

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

RCS students recognize a need for greater Wisdom beyond what is taught in the classroom, and they seek it out.

The RCS tagline is “the education you TRUST for the children you LOVE.” How do you accomplish this in your role at RCS?

My own children attend RCS, and I approach my teaching as though every one of the students sitting in my classroom are my own child. This includes supporting them in their learning, being flexible when needed, and pushing them to go further in their skills.

What do you want students to gain from having known you?

I want them to know they are loved, and that God has a plan for their life beyond their wildest dreams. I hope they leave my class with a greater appreciation for excellent literature.

What is your favorite verse?

1 Peter 3:3-4 “Do not let your adorning be external– the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear– but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”
