What do you love about Redwood Christian Schools?
I love that we get to partner with parents to educate their children and to share the love of Jesus with them every day!
What motivated you to serve at Redwood Christian?
Serving at RCS was God’s calling. Being an alumnus, I had no initial desire to return to RCS. The plan was to work at RCS for one year and then return to San Diego. God had a different plan and a different calling on my life. I had to change to fit that calling, but I am so thankful for the way God works. I am so thankful to be here! This is where I want to be!
What do you feel is the significance of your role at RCS?
I feel the significance of my role is to set the pace for our campus culture. I want to set the pace by loving God and loving others. I want our students to not only know about God, but to have a personal relationship with Him. I want our campus to bring Him glory in everything we do.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to shape the overall experience of students at RCS?
I like to have fun! I am typically happy and looking for the next thing to do. I wake up early everyday excited to get to work to be a part of what’s next!
What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?
RCS students know how to work hard, how to encourage others, how to be respectful, how to communicate effectively, how to think critically, how to speak truth, and how to stand for what’s right.
The RCS tagline is “the education you TRUST for the children you LOVE.” How do you accomplish this in your role at RCS?
By loving our kids and working together in close partnership with parents. This is a community. This is a family. We are all in it together!
What do you want students to gain from having known you?
I want them to know that God loves them and has a plan for their lives. I want them to feel safe and encouraged, to know that they can do anything if they put their minds to it, and, ultimately, I want to empower them to make an enormous difference on the Kingdom of God.
What is your favorite verse?
Isaiah 40:28-31 “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
