What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?
I teach all Band students (Grades 3-12).
What do you love about Redwood Christian Schools?
The opportunity to talk about Jesus to my students, and working with such a great staff!
Why do you like teaching at RCS?
I like teaching at Redwood Christian because I can freely talk about Jesus Christ and His role in my life to my students. I was motivated to become a teacher at RCS through contact with Mr. Bruce Johnson.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to shape the overall experience of students at RCS?
I have been heavily involved in the music field for most of my life. I can bring a lot of insight to instrumental and choral instruction. I have been involved in marching bands, concert bands, jazz bands, stage bands, pep bands, orchestras, concert choirs, chamber choirs, and vocal ensembles.
What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?
Many of the RCS students are Christians, and seek to follow God’s Word.
The RCS tagline is “the education you TRUST for the children you LOVE.” How do you accomplish this in your role at RCS?
I accomplish this through teaching about music through a Christ-centered worldview and by living a Godly life.
What do you want students to gain from having known you?
My passion for music and the performance of it for His glory!!
What is your favorite verse?
Ephesians 5:18b-20 “… be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
