What do you love about Redwood Christian Schools?

RCS is my home away from home. I attended RCS from first grade through 12th grade. I love teaching with my mom everyday (shout out to Mrs. Magee). I love that I can teach the gospel every single day. I am also very grateful for RCS because I met my husband here.

Why do you like teaching at Redwood Christian? What motivated you to become a teacher at Redwood Christian?

I love the smaller classes because I can get to know my students better. Like I mentioned already, I get to teach about Jesus every single day. The motivation to become a teacher at RCS was my mom. My mom is my best friend and a wonderful example of what a teacher should be.

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

I love to play sports, have fun, and help the students understand the meaning of March Madness. Go KU Jayhawks!

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

RCS students have the qualities to be leaders. I teach my students everyday about the understanding that our world is dark, and we, as believers in Christ, need to be the light, to be different.

The RCS tagline is “the education you TRUST for the children you LOVE.” How do you accomplish this in your role at RCS?

I strive to always have a safe environment for my students to learn more about who Christ is through all the different subjects in school, but also provide an open and loving environment to grow their faith and learn to know who God is. I love when they ask hard questions because it helps them (and me) learn more about who our King is.

What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

When my students leave 3V, they should always remember that, “God is good, all the time.”

What is your favorite verse?

Ephesians 5:8 ESV “For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”
