What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?

I teach AP World History, World History, and Economics.

What do you love about Redwood Christian Schools?

I love what Redwood stands for, a Christ-centered education devoted to academic excellence.

Why do you like teaching at RCS?

At first, I loved Redwood Christian Schools as a parent. In time, I began to realize that teaching was something the Lord was calling me to do and I cannot think of any school I would rather teach at than Redwood.

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to shape the overall experience of students at RCS?

I love to make history and economics relevant to my students in their daily lives to “personalize” their education. I strive to do this daily by looking at the material from their point of view, talking about related subjects in the news or posing questions to them that I wanted answered when I was their age.

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

Students in other schools may not have the Christ-centered education and educators that RCS have to “ground” them daily in what really matters.

The RCS tagline is “the education you TRUST for the children you LOVE.” How do you accomplish this in your role at RCS?

I do my best to approach education from a Biblical foundation. I read the Word daily and strive to honor God in all ways in order to succeed in this.

What do you want students to gain from having known you?

I want students to realize that teachers were once students just like them, and we are are godly role-models whom they can learn to emulate.

What is your favorite verse?

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
