What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?

I teach Middle School Drama, High School Drama, and 8th Grade Math.

What do you love about Redwood Christian Schools?

I love the staff and the students at RCS.

Why do you like teaching at RCS?

After teaching in the public school system, I wanted to teach in an environment where my Christianity could be openly expressed. I am an alumna, so of course I came back!

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to shape the overall experience of students at RCS?

I took drama in high school and college, so that background influences my teaching drama today. Also, I struggled with math in middle school, so I enjoy working with students who don’t always easily understand mathematical concepts, as I can explain difficult concepts in ways that they understand.

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

RCS students have a desire for an excellent education and they enjoy relating biblical truths to subject matter.  Therefore, I am impressed by their strong work ethic and ability to work together in the classroom.

The RCS tagline is “the education you TRUST for the children you LOVE.” How do you accomplish this in your role at RCS?

I love the students who enter my classroom every day by recognizing that they are all created in the image of God.  I also do my best to grow in my craft and to be an excellent educator who can reach the kids who come through my classes.

What do you want students to gain from having known you?

Aside from leaving my classroom having learned more than when they entered, I hope my students have a deeper love for Jesus, and, therefore, a confidence in themselves and the unique gifts and talents He has given them.

What is your favorite verse?

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
