What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?

I am a 5th grade teacher.

What do you love about Redwood Christian Schools?

I love the feeling of family in the diverse community at Redwood Christian. We support each other as faculty, as parents, and as sisters and brothers in Christ.

Why do you like teaching at RCS?

I attended Redwood Christian myself in kindergarten through 6th grade, so I already had knowledge of the excellent academic program and the strong feeling of family. This motivated my husband and me to enroll our daughter here in kindergarten, even though she could have attended the public school where I was teaching at the time.  After year of being an RCS parent, I was motivated to apply here and have truly loved teaching here and being a part of the RCS family.

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to shape the overall experience of students at RCS?

I LOVE reading! 🙂 As the 5th grade Language Arts teacher, it is my strong desire to share the love of reading with my students!

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

What sets the RCS student apart from other students is that they are taught all of the academic, Bible, athletic, and art subjects from a Biblical worldview that takes into consideration the whole child. We strive to help our students view the world and themselves through God’s eyes.

The RCS tagline is “the education you TRUST for the children you LOVE.” How do you accomplish this in your role at RCS?

I take very seriously the responsibility that our parents have entrusted me with their most precious possession, their child.  It is a truly sacred trust and I endeavor daily, with God’s help, to give my kids my very best.

What do you want students to gain from having known you?

I pray that my students will leave my classroom knowing first and foremost that they are loved — that they are secure in the knowledge of God’s love for them as well as knowing that I love them.

What is your favorite verse?

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
