RCS Senior Wins 2021 Rotary Speech Contest

“Olivia Fryling, RCS class of 2021, won the Rotary District 5170 Area 4 Youth Speech Contest last week and will now advance to the Northern Regional Contest on April 2. The winner from that contest advances to the District Finals on April 24 and will compete against entrants from Rotary Clubs in Alameda, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.
The theme of this year’s contest was “Rotary Opens Opportunities” and was held virtually. The title of Olivia’s speech was “An Homage to the Heroes Behind the Scenes.”
Jonathan Burckin, RCS class of 2021, also represented the Castro Valley Rotary in the contest and received a $25 gift card for being a finalist locally and internationally.”
