RCS Hosts the 44th Basketball Classic Tournament in Home Gymnasium

For the first time in RCS history, the Annual Basketball Classic Tournament was hosted at their home gymnasium. The Bruce D. Johnson Gymnasium was officially open for competition on November 24th.
“The response from visiting coaches was great,” said RCS Athletic Director, Jim Cleveland.
Two teams of the eight competing varsity boys teams came out strong at the 44th annual Basketball Classic Tournament. In a nail-biting championship game, Marin Academy narrowed by Lick Wilmerding (San Francisco), clutching the title.
“It came down to the final minutes,” reports Cleveland, “it was a one point game and neither coach had any timeouts remaining. The kids had to figure it out on their own.”
Marin Academy beat Lick Wilmerding in the championship game 52-51. Taking third place over Gateway (San Francisco) was College Prep (Oakland). St. Thomas More (San Francisco), Monte Vista Christian, International (San Francisco), and Redwood Christian also competed.
