Pastor Benjamin Robinson Leads Redwood Christian MSHS Spiritual Emphasis Week

san francisco area christian schoolsSeptember 16 – September 18 was Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) on the Redwood Christian Middle School and High School campus.  Pastor Benjamin Robinson from Living Hope Church in Emeryville, CA and https://www.pastorbenjamin.com/, was the speaker for the three-day series.  He focused on our identity in Christ: “What it means to be children of God and how being God’s children sets the course for our lives.”

Pastor Benjamin talked about his younger life and his experience trying to be something he was not.  “Even when you try to change and run away from God, He will always be there to show you how He made you and that He made you with His purpose.”  Students were challenged to reflect on the truth that God loves you even when you don’t love yourself.

Students were also encouraged by the truth that God loves you even when others do not love you.  Pastor Benjamin introduced the third and final day in song. He “rapped” a Cross Movement song, “Lord You Are (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaCBvIiGpJo),” earning a thundering applause, especially in middle school chapel.  His story of the swimmer was etched in the hearts and memories of all as he illustrated how a summer of being bullied made a boy strong enough to save a family from drowning.

“God never stops loving you and you need to settle in your heart today that you will never question it again in your life and no trial or hardship will ever cause you to question it,” Pastor Benjamin told the students.
