RCS Announces Director of Athletics, Dale Huemoeller

Redwood Christian Schools Announces Director of Athletics, Mr. Dale Huemoeller

Superintendent Hearne has announced that Mr. Dale S. Huemoeller has been appointed Director of Athletics, effective June 1, 2021.

In the fall of 1993, Coach Dale S. Huemoeller arrived to teach PE and coach basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track at Redwood Christian Schools. Mr. Huemoeller (current Redwood Christian Elementary Principal) is returning to his RCS athletic roots, to become the new Director of Athletics.

Dale and his wife Kathy, are alumni parents of three RCS lifers: Jacob class of 2011, Jay class of 2012, and Jordan class of 2015.  Jordan (Miss Huemoeller) currently teaches Elementary PE and Art at Redwood Christian Elementary.

During his twenty-eight year career at RCS, Coach Huemoeller has worn many hats and held many positions, each which brings unique experience to his new role.  Having started in PE, in 1998 Mr. Huemoeller transitioned into the Junior High math classroom, teaching 7th grade and 8th grade math. In 2001 he entered administration and became the Junior High Senior High Assistant Principal and Dean of Boys.  Since 2014 he has served as the Redwood Christian Elementary Principal.  Throughout each of these experiences, one item has remained constant: his involvement in the RCS Athletic Department, whether it be coaching a sport, driving the bus to support a team, or helping to run the game clock or keep the game stats.  He is looking forward to continuing the Athletic Department tradition of not only fielding competitive teams of scholar athletes but also and more importantly challenging student athletes to be growing in Christ.

The Redwood Christian athletic department exists to glorify God by developing Christian character and excellence in its student athletes through life transforming experiences and opportunities.  All RCS athletes are equipped with the support of the Athletic Director, coaches, and parents.

Coach Huemoeller’s favorite verse is Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave your nor forsake you.”  He believes that when students know that God is in control, it gives them a freedom to pursue careers that jobs haven’t even been created for yet. With God in control, students have the freedom to think outside the box.

Coach Huemoeller says, “I am so thankful for this opportunity. It is exciting for me to be able to work with our students in the area of sports. The life lessons sports offers are endless and I am excited to help our students navigate those lessons as it pertains to their individual lives. Having been a part of two soccer championship teams and two trips to the state finals in girls basketball at RCS, I look forward to the experiences God is going to take us through in the years to come.”

Current RCS Director of Athletics, Mr. Jim Cleveland, announced earlier in March that his family will be moving to Virginia after 27 years of service at Redwood Christian Schools, 16 years serving as the Director of Athletics.
