Devotional Thought:
Psalm 27:8, “You have said, ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, LORD, do I seek.’” In this verse, we see King David, a man after God’s own heart, pleading with God to answer his prayer. He reminds God of the command to pray and then tells God that his heart is set on prayer. David wanted God to answer his prayer for protection. Rather than waiting, worrying, fretting, or gossiping, he turned to God in prayer and began to communicate.
This type of communication with God that we see in David’s life is what Paul refers to in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “pray without ceasing.” What better way is there to show that you love God than by continually being in prayer, in constant communication with God?
