Jessie Pangelina

Position: Elementary School Teacher

Email: JessiePangelina@rcs.edu

How did God call you into teaching (if taught before), and/or what are your
professional credentials (or prior work experience)?

I most recently worked for the nonprofit, Playworks, where I helped create a safe and
healthy environment on the playground. I aimed to teach children valuable social and
emotional skills through play. God used that position to lead me to desire to use my gifts
to teach and work with children in the classroom.

What motivated you to become a teacher at Redwood Christian?

I am looking forward to becoming a part of the community at RCS. Having the ability to
teach and talk about faith with the students.

What is something you want students to have gained after having you as their
teacher?

I hope that my students gain an overall love for growing and learning. Math and science
can be difficult subjects. I hope my students gain confidence in their abilities and learn
to accomplish anything they put their minds to.

Do you have any other hobbies/interests outside of teaching?

I love taking walks with my dog, playing volleyball, painting, and going to the beach!

How will a time you’ve been inspired shape your teaching or classroom
management?

My favorite teacher to this day was my 5th grade teacher. She was firm, but fair and still made each lesson she was teaching fun! She cared deeply for each and every student. She loved what she did and showed love to her students. My goal is that my students walk away with a similar feeling. More importantly, I hope that my students grow in their faith and know how much they are loved by God.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 (NET)
