Dr. Elizabeth (Williamson) McMultry, D.O., FACEP, WWGH (Class of 1992)

Dr. Elizabeth (Williamson) McMurtry was named Physician of the Year by Adventist Health. She is an emergency physician at Walla Walla General Hospital. She is being recognized for her exemplary care and dedication to her patients. The award will be presented to Dr. McMurtry at the Adventist Health Physician Leadership Symposium in San Diego, CA in October 2016. Nominations for the esteemed award were submitted by the medical staff of Walla Walla General Hospital.
Liz married Dr. Mike McMurtry in 2005. He is a military veteran and also Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. They have had the privilege of working together at Walla Walla General Hospital for the past five years.
Dr. McMurtry was selected for exemplary work in her role as an emergency physician in addition to her work as an instructor and mentor for medical students of Pacific Northwest University centered in Yakima, WA. She teaches students on clinical rotations in the emergency department and often participates as a lecturer during their weekly educational sessions. Dr. McMurtry says, when it comes to medicine, “we are all teachers.”
Liz earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002 and completed residency in emergency medicine at Texas A&M Scott and White Memorial Hospital in 2005. Since that time she has been a practicing emergency physician in Nevada, Arizona, and Washington, culminating in her employment with Walla Walla General Hospital.
