Dan, Class of 1982, and Judy (Schaefer) Flores, Class of 1981

Judy (Schaefer) Flores has been appointed to become Shasta County’s Superintendent of Schools.
Prior to becoming Superintendent, Judy was the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services. She will be sworn in as Superintendent of Schools on July 1. Judy has worked in education for thirty-one years. Married to alumni Dan Flores (1982) for thirty-one years, they have three adult children: Natalie, 24, graduated from Simpson University in April 2015; Aimee, 21, will be a senior at Point Loma Nazarene University majoring in Nutrition; and, Stephen, 19, will be a junior at Azusa Pacific University majoring in Commercial Music. Dan currently teaches vocal and instrumental music, as well as guitar, for grades 4-8 at Boulder Creek School in the Enterprise Elementary School District. Dan is involved in the music at Neighborhood Church in Redding and has taken up bagpipes, competing with the Jefferson Pipe Band for the last 7 years. Judy’s mother, Nancy Schaefer, served at Redwood Christian Schools from 1976-1989, starting as high school secretary and became the high school registrar/dean.
