INTERACT CLUB

About Interact:

Interact is an international organization of service that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, and promotes international understanding and peace. Interact is a club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with others in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. The name “Interact” was created by combining the words “international” and “action.” Interact clubs are sponsored by Rotary clubs and Interact clubs organize at least two service projects a year: one that benefits their community and one that encourages international understanding. While Interact clubs receive guidance from individual Rotary clubs, they govern and support themselves and are included in Rotary International’s “Youth Services” Avenue of Service.
The Redwood Christian Interact Club is a part of Area 2 in District 5170.
Throughout the year, we work with San Leandro High, Castro Valley High, KIPP King Collegiate, Arroyo High, Moreau Catholic, and Mt. Eden to raise money and hours towards our International and Community projects. While Interact is not in itself a Christian organization, it fosters students to be the hands and feet of God on a day to day basis.

Officer Bios:

Kaitlin Suchanek, President

Hello! My name is Kaitlin Suchanek and I am your President for the 2014-2015 school year. I have been going to Redwood Christian since Kindergarten, and have been doing interact since my freshman year. My favorite thing about Interact Club is that I can have fun with my friends while doing service for others. When I’m not having fun at an Interact event, you can find me playing volleyball, doing Girl Scout activities (12 years!), or taking photography class.

Favorite Verse: Galatians 5:13 “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

John Luke Saake, Vice President

I’m John Luke Saake and I am a Senior and the Vice President for Interact 2014-2015. This is my 4th year in Interact and it has been amazing to watch the club grow into what it is now. When I am not busy with homework or having fun at an Interact event, I enjoy playing games and watching sports.

Favorite Verse: I Peter 4:10 “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace”

Haley Tang, Secretary

Hey there, I’m Haley Tang, and I’m the Secretary for this year. I’ve been attending Redwood ever since kindergarten, and I’ve been apart of Interact since freshman year. I love playing volleyball and soccer, along with playing guitar and drawing. Jasmine milk tea is the best.

Annie Diaz, Treasurer

Hi! My name is Annie Diaz and I am the Treasurer of Interact. This is my second year as a student at Redwood Christian High School and third year as an active member in Interact. My favorite part of being in Interact besides serving others is meeting students who also enjoy serving from other schools and areas because I wouldn’t meet them otherwise. In my free time I love playing guitar and making music. I play soccer and run track, and Spirit Week is my favorite week out of the school year. I love animals and big dogs are my favorite.

Adam Staley, Upperclassmen Representative

Hi! My name is Adam Staley and I am your Upperclassmen Representative for the 2014-2015 school year. I have been at Redwood since kindergarten, and I joined Interact this year and hopefully will be a member for many more years. Outside of Interact I like to play soccer, do hurdles in track, and hang out with friends.

Hanna Garcia, Underclassmen Representative

Hey guys! My name is Hanna Garcia and I am your Underclassmen Representative for this year!! So if anybody {especially freshmen and sophomores} has a question about interact or just wants to say hi, you can definitely talk to me! I have been going to Redwood now for over a year and I joined Interact my freshman year because it looked like a great opportunity to serve others in my community. When I’m not at school, you can usually find me taking pictures, playing tennis or reading a book.
