Castaneda, Redemer Named New Principals at Redwood Christian MSHS

RCS is pleased to announce new administration appointments for the 2022-23 School Year.

The New Middle School Principal Is: Albert Castaneda

At the MSHS Awards Ceremony (Tuesday, 5/24), RCS announced Albert Castaneda as the new MS Principal, effective July 1, 2022! You should all know Mr. Castaneda well; he needs little introduction due to his 31 years of faithful service at RCS. Mr. Castaneda met his wife, Julie Castaneda at Biola, and three (Alicia, Joel, and Abby) of their four children graduated from RCS; Josh is in 10th grade. Mrs. Castaneda has also taught English for RCS and currently produces the high school yearbook. Mr. Castaneda earned a BA in History from Biola, a California Teaching Credential from Chapman University, and an MA in Educational Leadership along with a California Administrative Services Credential from Brandman University. In addition, he will soon be completing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Columbia International University. He has taught various subjects for RCS including: PE, Bible, History, and AAP Advisory. Since 2010 he has served as the Director of the AAP Program and as an assistant principal at the MSHS.
Mr. Castaneda says, “Now, more than ever there is a need for Christian education for Middle School students. They need a school that supplies answers and provides support to teach our brilliant children to trust God for their future. I look forward to seeing you in August 2022.”

The New High School Principal Is: Mr. Justin Redemer

At the Middle School Graduation (Tuesday, 5/24), RCS announced Justin Redemer as the new HS Principal. Although Mr. Redemer will begin serving for the first time at RCS on July 1, 2022, he is familiar with RCS. All four of his children attend RCS (Elijah is in 9th, Caleb is in 7th, Joshua is in 4th, and Hannah is in 2nd), and his wife Julia Redemer has just completed her first year teaching 7th and 8th grade English in the Middle School. Mr. Redemer earned a BA in English from Wake Forest University and a California Teaching Credential from Saint Mary’s College of California. Mr. Redemer has 18 years of experience teaching high school English, the first seven at Liberty High School in Brentwood, and the past 11 years at Hayward High School in Hayward. In addition to teaching English, Mr. Redemer was also the Hayward High School Varsity Football Coach from 2011 to 2020. In 2020 he joined the 3Crosses staff as the Men’s Ministry Director, a role he will continue as he begins serving at RCS.
Mr. Redemer says, “I am honored and excited for the opportunity to join the Redwood Christian Schools community and serve Bay Area Christian families in pursuing excellent education for the sake of the Gospel.”
