Since graduating from RCHS nearly nineteen years ago and leaving her saxophone behind, life has taken Amy through many adventures. From serving in the U.S. Army prior to and after 9/11, to owning her own insurance agency for nearly thirteen years, Amy most recently returned to school and completed her bachelors degree in Business and a masters degree in Marketing from University of Texas at Dallas, and as of December 2015, her Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech School of Law. On December 1, 2016, she entered into a new adventure: partner in a civil litigation firm located in Denton, Texas. Amy credits the support of her family (including her “amazing” thirteen year old son, Conner, who, per Amy “should get an honorary degree for all he’s put up with the last few years” and friends in this journey. Amy hopes to expand her practice, including returning to California and continue the growth of her practice in the Bay Area. Amy wrote of her life as mother, Army veteran and attorney: “In all things remember that Christ has a plan far bigger than your own or what you can imagine and that you can do all things through Him.” Her high school English teacher, Susy Flory, wrote in Amy’s yearbook: “You should be an attorney with your ability to argue successfully for a ¼ of a point.” Amy has never forgotten that note!
