How did God call you into teaching, and/or what are your professional credentials (or prior work experience)?

My calling to teach began with serving as a Sunday School teacher at my church, where I discovered the joy of helping children understand God's Word and apply it to their everyday lives. That calling was further strengthened after my daughter was born. As I taught her Scripture and watched God's Word shape her heart and character, the Lord continued to grow my desire to invest in the lives of children. After my daughter started school, Redwood Christian School graciously welcomed me as an elementary substitute teacher, where I also had opportunities to step in for extended periods and take on greater classroom responsibilities. I loved being part of the school community and am excited to continue that journey as a fifth-grade teacher.  I hold a Master's degree in Computer Science from California State University, East Bay, and previously worked in the technology field. As I prayed about this new direction, I was encouraged by David's example in 1 Samuel, trusting that God equips us for the work He calls us to do.

What motivated you to become a teacher at Redwood Christian?

What drew me to Redwood Christian is its commitment to both strong biblical foundation and academic excellence. I love that students are encouraged to grow not only in knowledge but also in wisdom, character, and faith. It is a blessing to be part of a school where learning and God's Word go hand in hand.

Tell us about your family and how they are looking forward to this new opportunity.

My husband and I have been married for eight years, and we have a six-year-old daughter who loves being part of the Redwood Christian School community. My family has been incredibly supportive of this new opportunity, and we are grateful to be part of a community where faith and education are so closely connected.

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

I enjoy working with children and watching their curiosity grow. I love engaging them with brain teasers, word games, and thought-provoking questions that inspire them to think critically and discover ideas for themselves. Whether teaching Scripture or academic concepts, I enjoy using simple, relatable examples that help students make meaningful connections to what they are learning.

Do you have any other hobbies/interests outside of teaching?

My hobbies include spending time with my family, putting puzzles together, and exploring new places during our summer travels. I especially enjoy reading mystery stories, creating arts and crafts, and trying simple science experiments with my daughter.

Our tagline is “Inspiring Futures.” How will a time you’ve been inspired shaped your teaching?

One of the greatest influences in my life has been my mother and the example she set through her love, selfless service, and integrity. As I became a parent myself, I realized how much her example shaped the way I care for others. A verse that has continued to inspire me is Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." I hope to encourage my students to give their best in everything they do—not simply for grades or recognition, but because excellence and faithfulness honor God. My prayer is that years from now my students will not only remember what they learned in my classroom, but also the kindness, encouragement, and love for Christ they experienced each day.
