How did God call you into teaching, and/or what are your professional credentials (or prior work experience)?
Growing up I was the student that needed more guidance within the classroom. I had great teachers that helped me in my past gain the confidence to place me where I am today. Now it is my turn to make school interactive and interesting for my students. I previously worked as a substitute for 3 years at Valley Christian School and the Castro Valley School District. I have coached volleyball for 7 years. I have previously taught 4th grade for 2 years at Mission Hills School.
What motivated you to become a teacher at Redwood Christian?
I became motivated to teach at RCS because I can openly talk about God in a school environment. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to grow more in my faith.
Tell us about your family and how they are looking forward to this new opportunity.
My family is a BIG part of my life, and they are very excited for my new adventure here at RCS.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I love to be outside exploring God's creation. While growing up and still residing on a ranch, I will bring my passion for the outdoors and animals to the classroom.
Do you have any other hobbies/interests outside of teaching?
I love to go horseback riding, play fetch with my dogs, boating, camping, and gardening. Over the summer break I got married, while my Husband and I share the same passion for the outdoors, animals, and collecting tractors; we love to relax and watch Netflix.
Our tagline is “Inspiring Futures.” How will a time you’ve been inspired shaped your teaching?
I truly believe that the future of our world sits in my classroom, I will do my best to guide and give my students the tools they will need to succeed academically and in real world situations.
