What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?

I teach Kindergarten.

What do you love about your role(s) at RCS?

Witnessing the growth, the fun, and the curiosity of the Kindergarten mind is quite a gift! 

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

RCS students are given the opportunity to learn holistically where mind, body, and soul are all valued.  

How do you inspire your students?

As a Kindergarten teacher I have the privilege of being at the foundational level of our students’ academic journeys and to inspire them to always be kind, curious, and courageous. So often our children are asked, “What do you want to do when you grow up?” but wouldn’t it be wonderful if we started asking them, “Who do you want to be when you grow up?” and then encouraged them to make choices that grow their hearts and minds in truth and grace. 

What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

Oh, that they would always remember that Jesus sees them, hears them, knows them and loves them fully! (And also that I am on their team and learning is a lifelong adventure!)

What in scripture motivates you in your role(s) at RCS?

I teach my students that we are God’s children (even Mrs. Miller), and we are learning together how to walk with our hands open and choose to trust God’s way vs our own way. One of the scriptures we learn is the Lord’s Prayer and it is always a good truth to remember “Our Father in Heaven, Holy is YOUR Name, YOUR kingdom come, YOUR will be done…” May it be so!
