What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?
I am the middle school and high school PE teacher, soccer coach, and Assistant Athletic Director.
What do you love about your role(s) at RCS?
Two of the greatest loves of my life are the Word of God and athletics. My role at RCS allows me to share both with my students!
What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?
RCS students are young men and women of great character and integrity. They understand that their identity is more than just what others think about them and strive to be growing and learning as they prepare for life after RCS.
The RCS tagline is “INSPIRING FUTURES.” How do you inspire your students?
“Soccer is a metaphor for life” is a phrase you will hear on the soccer field during our season. My coaching staff and I believe that soccer, and all athletics, is the ultimate preparation for what life will throw at our students. I love using sports as a way to prepare our students for life. Paul the Apostle uses athletic competition as an illustration for the struggles and strivings of the life of a Believer. My hope and prayer is that I can use athletics in the classroom and on the sports field to encourage these young men and women to pursue God with their lives.
What do you want your students to gain from having known you?
I hope students see and hear from me that there is nothing more important than knowing God. With so much in the world to pursue and desire, there is NOTHING better than knowing God!
What is your favorite verse?
Philippians 3:12 “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.”
