What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?

I teach Spanish 1 to middle school and high school students.

What do you love about your role(s) at RCS?

I love the fact that I get to teach students how to speak Spanish in order to use it outside of the classroom. I love that I have the freedom to talk about God and His Word and relate it to the subject matter. I love hearing students speak what they know with each other. It’s a blessing to be a part of their development as students.

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

RCS students are supportive of one another. I have seen this in the classroom where students are encouraging one another through words of affirmation.

How do you inspire your students?

I hope I am inspiring students to go beyond what is expected. Learn the language in order to be a bridge of communication. God can use what you are learning today to bless someone tomorrow. Learning Spanish can be a stepping stone to learn other romance languages.

What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

I want students to know who God is and His plan of salvation. I want them to know that what matters most is obeying God and living like His disciple. I want them to know compassion, mercy and grace lived out in the classroom. I want them to learn how to talk to God through prayer.

What is your favorite verse?

Romans 11:36 “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.”

What I do comes from God and He enables me to do it. It is accomplished for His glory: that is humbling.
