How did God call you into teaching, and/or what are your professional credentials (or prior work experience)?

I was called to teaching as a teenager. I was a lifeguard/swim instructor between the ages 15-18. Well before graduating high school, I knew I wanted to become a high school teacher. I eventually graduated from CSUEB (CSUH) in 2000 with a B.A. in English and immediately went to teach at CVHS. In that I time I completed my Teaching Credential and an M.A. in literature I taught at CVHS for 21 years.

What do you love about your role at RCS?

I love being able to speak truth in Christ Jesus and to explore the English language in literature and writing!

RCS students have a wonderful character--their love for the lord and each other is inspiring!

What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

I want my students to gain a newfound love the written and spoken word--to fully cherish literature and their ability to connect with it.
