What is/are your role(s) at Redwood Christian Schools?

I teach 7th grade Math, Pre-Algebra, and Student Leadership. I am also the Director of Infastructure.

What do you love about your role(s) at RCS?

I love interacting with my students and helping them realize that they can do anything they put their minds to.

What sets RCS students apart from students in other schools?

Our student’s mindset.  I have been amazed at how many of our students try to lift each other up instead of tear each other down.  

How do you inspire your students?

I try to inspire my students with Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”  I encourage my students that they can do anything.  All they have to do is decide they want to do it and put in the effort.  It may not be easy, but they can do anything.

What is something you want students to have gained after having you as their
teacher?

I want my students to know that they always have someone who wants them to succeed, and believes that they can succeed.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

“Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.  Let all that you do be done in love.” I Corinthians 16:13-14 (NRSV).  This verse is what I model my life on.  It shows that we as Christians need to balance standing up for what is right while doing it from a place of love.
