How did God call you into teaching, and/or what are your professional credentials (or prior work experience)?

My calling into music education stems from a deep conviction of stewardship—using my God-given musical abilities and life experiences to serve others. I believe music is one of the most comprehensive ways to inspire lifelong learning, critical thinking, and character development. Teaching allows me to combine my passion for music, my drive to encourage others, and my goal of helping students discover and refine their own gifts for God's glory.

What motivated you to become a teacher at Redwood Christian?

I was motivated to become a teacher at Redwood Christian because of the faith and community aspects of this school. My path into education stems from a deep conviction of stewardship—using my God-given musical abilities to serve others and glorify Him. I am excited to build deep relationships within this community, foster a culture of encouragement and life-long learning, and help our students discover how their own talents can be used to serve God and those around them.

Tell us about your family and how they are looking forward to this new opportunity.

My family includes my parents and my brother, and they are thrilled to see me step into this new role at Redwood Christian. They’ve supported my growth as a musician and educator every step of the way, and they are excited to cheer on our music program at future concerts and events!

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

Through my student teaching and practical experience, I’ve developed a strong commitment to supporting neurodivergent students and diverse learners. I believe music should be as accessible as possible, and I am always looking for creative ways to make sure every student can thrive in the ensemble. I also bring a passion for restoring and repairing vintage instruments—I love taking an object that has been quiet for years and helping it sing and tell a beautiful story again.

Do you have any other hobbies/interests outside of teaching?

My interests outside of teaching are centered on spending time outdoors. I love hiking and backpacking, and I always enjoy getting outside to play disc golf with my family and friends.

Our tagline is “Inspiring Futures.” How will a time you’ve been inspired shaped your teaching?

My journey to completing my degree wasn't easy—it was filled with five years of unforeseen challenges and obstacles that required immense perseverance. What kept me going was the grace of God and the incredible, supportive people He placed in my life to stand by me along the way. Having experienced firsthand how crucial that kind of support is when facing steep odds, my goal as a teacher is to pay that forward. I want to create a classroom where every single student feels genuinely seen, valued, and supported to reach their full potential, no matter what challenges they face.
