Beyond the Classroom: Students Take College Exploration to Los Angeles

Last week, a group of 21 students embarked on a college tour through the Los Angeles area, visiting Biola University, Vanguard University, the University of Southern California (USC), and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) — a diverse range of institutions offering a broad look at academic environments, campus cultures, and student life.

A hands-on college experience

The trip was designed to help students begin envisioning their paths beyond high school. At each campus, students walked through residence halls and lecture spaces, getting an authentic feel for what college life actually looks like day to day. They engaged thoughtfully with admissions staff, asking questions about available majors, scholarship opportunities, and tuition costs — a reflection of the maturity and intentionality they brought to this experience.

A memorable evening at Medieval Times

No great trip is complete without a standout memory — and this one came in the form of an unforgettable evening at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Students cheered on their Knight to victory, creating lasting bonds and a shared experience they won't soon forget.

Looking ahead

Trips like this one are more than a field experience — they're a catalyst. Seeing a college campus in person, talking to admissions counselors, and imagining yourself living and learning there has a way of making the future feel real and attainable. I am incredibly proud of how our students represented our school throughout this trip.
We look forward to offering another outstanding college tour next year and strongly encourage families to consider this meaningful opportunity.
