MSHS Music Groups Strike Gold and Silver in Prestigious Disneyland Festival

Our RCS MSHS band, choir, and strings programs returned from the WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival at Disneyland with an impressive collection of awards, showcasing their talent and dedication and underscoring the growth of our music programs.

The competition, featuring 30 schools from 7 different states, uses a national scoring system to award Merit, Bronze, Silver, or Gold distinctions.

This year, the MSHS music department made remarkable strides in their performances securing:

  • Gold Standard in High School Band

  • Gold Standard in Middle School Band

  • Silver Standard in High School Choir

  • Silver Standard in Middle School Choir

  • Silver Standard in Middle School Strings

This represents a notable improvement over the school's previous showing, where they earned two Bronze, one Silver, and one Gold. The addition of the Middle School Strings program this year contributed to the impressive haul of three Silver and two Gold awards.

It’s a testament to the countless hours of practice put in by our students, led and encouraged by our Choir and Strings Director, Rachel Chow and Band Director, Azeem Ward.

Congratulations to all!
