Redwood Christian High School announced its 2021 Homecoming Court at the Annual Homecoming Banquet hosted at Ruby Hills Golf Club on Friday March 14, 2021. Elected by their class, Senior King Dominic DeCastro and Senior Queen Britney Truscott were joined by senior princesses Bethany Christian and Rayah Miller and senior princes Jonathan Burckin and Noah Sanchez. We are so proud of both our Queen and King and of their classmates who honored two exceptional students to represent them!
Get to know Britney! Britney is a “RCS Lifer” who is an aspiring physical therapist assistant (specializing in oncology and physiology for amputees). Another goal is she hopes to go to Europe and watch a live Manchester United game! Britney is an exceptional soccer player and student. She shares her favorite RCS teacher is Mrs. Clausen, “She is so energetic. I really feel her love for her job and Christ-like love for her students. I am grateful to have been in her class and to become her friend.” According to her friends, she is bubbly, spontaneous, and intuitive. Her advice to RCS incoming freshmen? You can do it!
Dom was one of very few students in our district to receive Congressional Nomination from Congressman Eric Swalwell and has been accepted by the US Naval Academy Foundation Program. He will attend New Mexico Military Institute to prepare for an academic school year in order to attend the US Naval Academy (class of 2026!). He aspires to be a fighter jet pilot for the US Navy, but also hopes to beat Coach Sanchez in a game of HORSE one day. His friends describe him as goofy, hard working, and loyal. His advice to incoming freshmen? Have fun and do your best! You only have one high school experience.
Both Britney and Dominic shared that they person they admire the most is their dads. Britney shares, “My dad is a hard worker, and he is my rock. I love and want to be like him.” Dominic shares that his dad has been his role model. “He has given me many life lessons and advice to shape me into a young man of God. He is a hard worker and has been there for me and my family while balancing a busy life as an engineer, pastor, and a pilot.”
Also elected by their class, Junior Prince Theo Clausen and Princess Tyanna Lacy were joined by junior princesses Yael Cherry and Bethany Dominguez and junior princes Cody Cuento and Josiah Saavedra-Flores.
The banquet followed the Senior Chapel, a RCHS tradition honoring the unique talents of the graduating class and was the first of several celebratory events to honor the graduating seniors. The banquet was put in by the High School Executive Class who met over zoom throughout the school year and found creative ways to make the high school social experience continue and be as memorable as possible this year. All attendees were either vaccinated or had a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the banquet. The event was for RCHS juniors and seniors only, semi formal, and accessorized with masks.
