2021 Commencement Speakers

Meet the RCS Class of 2021 Commencement Speakers

Name: Guilliane (Gail) Mojica
Title: Student Council President
After High School: Army ROTC in college and eventually serving as an officer
A Favorite RCS Memory: The people, faculty, and teachers.
Advice to Incoming Freshmen: Give your best, and don’t rely on retakes! Do well the first time! It will help you out in the future and have a better work ethic.
Name: Jezriel Salonga
Title: Senior Class Vice President
After High School: Attending Chabot College and Working Part Time
A Favorite RCS Memory: Being a part of the JV basketball team that went 18-2, it was a great experience playing with this team and my coach, and we always put a lot of effort into each game.
Advice to Incoming Freshmen: Get involved with the school, and get yourself in sports and clubs because you get to hang out with friends and make new ones there, just don’t forget about doing homework when you get home.
Name: Jonathan Burckin
Title: Valedictorian
After High School: University of California, Santa Barbara with a career objective in corporate finance
Name: Sarah Lee
Title: Valedictorian
After High School: Pensacola Christian College to study nursing because I want to be a nurse
A Favorite RCS Memory: Being a silver medal congressional award recipient. This is my favorite accomplishment because it pushed me to improve my self in areas of public service, personal development, and physical activities.
Advice to Incoming Freshmen: You don’t have to be smart to get good grades, just work hard, put in 100% of your efforts, and don’t give up.
Name: Rohan John
Title: Valedictorian
After High School: Bioengineering at UCSD, then med school somewhere, and ultimately, as of right now, overseas medical missions.
A Favorite RCS Memory: Probably winning Best Accompanist two years in a row at Music in the Parks, then our whole choir getting a Command Performance last year. Piano is one of those things I love, and it’s even more fun being able to do it with friends in choir, so to me, those awards were assurance that I was doing good work and doing right by my friends and the choir.
Advice to Incoming Freshmen: Don’t be so dramatic, the world does NOT revolve around you.
Name: Rayah Miller
Title: Student Council Vice President
After High School: Attend college for BSN to become an registered nurse.
A Favorite RCS Memory: My favorite class would have to be Mr. McDaniel’s AP Lang/Comp. I learned a lot about effective writing and rhetoric while also having a ton of fun.
Advice to Incoming Freshmen: I would tell incoming freshmen that your high school experience is what you make it. Go out and join clubs or sports teams and I promise you’ll find people with similar interests to make friends with. Don’t skip out on school or class activities- they’re a great way to make memories!
