The 8th annual Meeting God in Baseball Dominican Coaches Conference was a success. 140 Dominican coaches were able to attend the four-day conference. Four different missions organizations worked together to bring coaches to the conference. Ten American coaches worked together to organize and present various discipleship topics and baseball coaching clinics. The goal of the conference was twofold. First, we wanted to equip the Dominican men through discipleship training to be the type of spiritual leaders God has called them to be for their teams and communities. Secondly, we wanted to train them to be more effective baseball coaches through the on-field clinics that were presented.
The feedback from the Dominican coaches was tremendous. Many of them expressed their desire to go back to their teams and put the spiritual needs of their teams above other priorities. Secondly, there were at least four decisions to accept Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives. Also, there were close to a dozen coaches baptized on the final day of the conference. The Meeting God in Baseball full time staff will spend the next several months following up with the coaches who attended the conference by visiting them at the baseball fields in their towns and encouraging them to continue to be spiritual leaders for their teams and communities.
The pictures are of the Dominican coaches who made a decision to follow Christ or who were baptized, as well as of the on-field clinics.
