Mr. Hearne’s Recommended Resources:
Jesus is the reason for the Christmas Season!!! One of the presents that we as parents get is our kids home from school for two weeks!!! Let me encourage you to use this time wisely with your kids and to teach them about the gift of salvation that God has given to those who believe in Him. My first recommended resource is “Five Things to Teach Your Children This Christmas.” The second one is “12 Days of Fun (and Cheap!) Christmas Activities for Families.” The third, as always is the “Axis Cultural Translator“.

Fabulous Learning

5th Grade “Sets Sail” – Students prepared for a voyage as either
a religious freedom colony, government colony, or private
company colony. They have created names, designed flags,
worked on map skills, and next week they will choose the cargo
to bring along before the boat launches.

Food in Espanol: This week we learned about foods we eat for
dinner and their food groups. Students made a “Mi Plato” (My
Plate) with the different food groups and what they should eat
for dinner in order to maintain their health. They had to share
their meal plan with the class in complete sentences using
vocabulary and correct verb conjugation.-Mrs. Phillips

Mrs. Sommers’ Miracle: Mrs. Sommers shared with her students
how the balance activities they were doing in PE were similar to
ones that helped her brain and body heal after her long time in
bed recovering from surgery. This was a great lesson for them
to see how what we do in PE can transfer to real life situations
and how important balance is for our bodies.

Dora the Explorer in High School Spanish: It was amazing to
see the creativity used in creating a video with Dora the
Explorer as a theme in giving driving directions in Spanish.
Students used related vocabulary and informal command
conjugations as well.-Mrs. Sanchez CLICK HERE

2nd Grade Field Trip Recap: Second Grade students took a
field trip to Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael. It was
amazing to see how God has created certain dogs to help those
who are blind.-Mrs. Haserot CLICK HERE
