Another Redwood Christian Alum is in the news!
Wayne Smith, a former RCS athlete from the class of 2010, has been named Runner of the Month by the California Pacific Conference.
Wayne Smith recorded the fastest time in the Conference when he clocked a 25:55 to finish sixth in a field of 234 at the 8k Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale a week ago. At least half a dozen other Cal Pac runners have challenged the 26-minute mark (the best times belonging to Soka University of America’s Aaron Perry, UC Merced’s Daniel Pena, and Embry-Riddle’s Andrew Peterson), but only Smith has surpassed in preparing for the Cal Pac Championships on Monday, Nov. 4, at Fresno’s Woodward Park. Smith also ran a 26:14—one of the better marks this fall—at the Charles Bowles Invitational at Willamette.
Way to make your RCS family proud!
