Lyndsey has fulfilled her dream and is now a Registered Nurse! Lyndsey wrote “Since graduating from Redwood in 2011, God has taken me on so many adventures which have shaped and molded me into who I am today. It was during my freshman year, while studying at Life Pacific Bible College, where I felt God place the calling on my life to become a nurse. I traveled to Kenya that summer and had the privilege of doing ministry in churches and assisting in medical clinics. My heart broke for the community’s health status and lack of resources. The experiences I gained on that trip acted as the catalyst which made me passionate about becoming an RN. In 2013 I started attending Biola University, but it wasn’t until 2014 that I was officially accepted into their Bachelor of Science, Nursing program. Now here I am, graduating with honors in May 2017 with my BSN, RN degree. I just recently traveled back to Africa to work in the hospital and teach health screenings to communities in Rwanda. I’m actually writing this during my 30 hour journey home! Not only was I able to put into practice the passion that God first gave me while in Kenya, but I also experienced life lessons that I will cherish forever. As far as career plans, I hope to be accepted into a new graduate RN residency program in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. While nursing is quite the emotional, spiritual and physical strain, God has remained ever so present in every challenge, quietly reminding me of my calling to care for His children.”
