December 2011
Students from Redwood Christian High School's Interact Club Minister in His Name in the Community One of the reasons families send their children to RCS is to develop a Spirit of Patriotism and Community Involvement (1 Peter 2:13-17). Preparing for the December 13 party, Redwood Christian High School students wrapped presents for the Castro Valley Rotary Club’s Children’s Christmas Party for children living mostly in foster homes or family shelters. They also ministered to the party guests at the party by providing fun activities for the children, including making balloon animals, face painting and serving in any capacity necessary. Students who shared the love of Jesus with the children were RCHS InterAct President Sonja Chen, RCHS InterAct Secretary Abigail Diaz, Christine Lum, Abe Dereje, Joshua Grant, Daniel Masis and Eric Parker. We are so blessed by the unselfish service of our students!

New Principals Named to CCS and JHSH for 2008-09
After 18 years of service at Redwood Christian Schools, the last seven years as our junior high-senior high principal, and almost forty years in Christian education, Mr. John Bakker announced his retirement yesterday at the Faculty-Staff-Board Christmas Fellowship, effective June 30, 2008. His tender heart and commitment to always being available to help anyone at anytime will be missed. He has left open the possibility of remaining on staff in another position. Earlier this year at our Annual Dinner, I announced the retirement of Mr. Butch Monk from RCS, where he has served for the last thirty-six years, thirty-two of them as principal of our Crossroads Christian School campus.
The RCS School Board has accepted the staff recommendation and named Mr. Mike Kady to become the new principal at Crossroads Christian Schooland Mr. Al Hearne to become principal at Redwood Christian Junior-Senior High. Both of these appointments are effective July 1, 2008.
Although we will miss both Mr. Bakker and Mr. Monk, we are so thankful for God’s provision of their successors–godly leaders well known to the RCS family.
Take care, God Bless and have a GREAT Christmas season!

November 2006 The Castro Valley Rotary Club recently donated $2,512 to Redwood Christian Schools which allowed the school to purchase four Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), one for each of their campuses. In his thank you letter to the Club, Superintendent Johnson wrote: " . . . One will be mounted in an alarmed case on each of our campuses to ensure easy access in a life or death situation. In addition to our students and their families benefiting from this purchase, thousands of members of our community will also benefit, as necessary, as they share our facilities for church services and community programs."
