The RCS Concept Help Program:

YOUR CHILD MAY NEED CONCEPT HELP IF HE OR SHE IS:

  • A poor reader

  • Behind in school

  • Unmotivated

  • Appearing lazy

  • Finding math a maze.

The Concept Help program consists of smaller classes designed to give modified instruction to children with specific learning problems. Each class places an emphasis on the basics (math, reading, language and spelling), working to develop a solid foundation of basic skills. RCS strives to make each classroom a place where every student is engaged and challenged as individual needs are addressed.

One of the following programs may provide the specific level and skills needed by your child:

  • Basic Education--Middle School, 6-8

  • Basic Education--High School, 9-12

The purpose of Concept Help is to guide and support children struggling with achievement, study habits, attitude and developmental delays. Academic growth, spiritual development and a sense of achievement are considered essential.

Parental assistance is vital in helping your child adjust to this new situation. In each of our three programs, you will be expected to assist your child with homework. Mandatory conferences are held twice a year to keep parents well informed. Parental participation is so vital that RCS reserves the right to dismiss a child due to the parent's seeming lack of concern or cooperation.

BASIC EDUCATION
FOR GRADES 6 THROUGH 12

The Middle School & High School Basic Education classes provide unique educational opportunities for teens who have difficulty mastering basic educational skills. There is a strong emphasis on English (grammar, writing, reading and spelling), mathematics and study skills. Electives (band, choir, art and computer skills) are available. Class size is limited to 20 students, who receive instruction from a variety of teachers in different classroom settings.

BASIC ED--Middle School
Students receive guided instruction that facilitates their move to Basic Ed High School or the academic college-prep classes.

BASIC ED--High School
The High School class develops students who are not able to progress academically at the same pace as those in our core college-prep classes. Students are taught skills that facilitate life-long learning. A high school diploma is awarded upon successful completion of a proficiency test.

The program offers a complete four-year curriculum in Bible, social studies, literature, grammar and math. A modified schedule involving college-prep classes may be available to qualified students.

Basic Education classes are held at the Middle School & High School Campus at 1000 Paseo Grande, San Lorenzo.
