February 2008

Hello everyone, it is me Tina (Faria) Gardner! On February 3, 2007 I married Anthony Gardner of East St. Louis, IL. We currently live in Oakland. I am working as a medical assistant for Maxim Healthcare and attending Merritt College pursuing my nursing degree. God willing I should graduate before I turn 50! :) My husband is a community health worker and works with a group of doctors in the area that treat HIV/AIDS patients and also going to Berkeley City College to pursue a degree as a sign language and Spanish speaking interpreter. So, we are quite busy. Feel free to view my dads web page (http://web.mac.com/rafaria/Spring_2008) where you will find pictures of our first anniversary celebration located under the Spring 2008 Christy and Anthony link. It is so hard to believe that it has been 20 years since we graduated...how time flies! We pray that all of you are doing well. Also, just a side note before I send this out... I have been cancer free now for 8 years and have been diagnosed as "cured" Thank you to all that had me and my family in your prayers while I was going through chemotherapy. We also would like to ask that you keep Anthony and I in your prayers. Please also feel free to shoot us an email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) It would be really nice "reuniting" with everyone.

October 2007

Hi. It's Marci (Watson) Kephart. I am currently a preschool teacher at Celebration Christian Preschool in Brentwood. My husband, Bill, works for a machinery manufacturer in Hayward. He travels quite a bit for his work and is currently in Venezuela for 3 weeks. We have two boys, Tanner who will be 9yrs old next week, and Austin, who is 3 1/2 years old. We have been living in Brentwood for 10 years and really enjoy it. Below is a picture of our boys.

August 2007

Rich Saxelid has been living and working in the Sacramento area for nearly twenty years. He currently is working for an outsourcing firm for the past two years. Rich has completed two Bachelors degrees (Behavioral Science, 1995 and Organizational Behavior, 2003), and received his Masters in Organizational Management in 2005. Rich is currently completing a second Masters in Education (with a teaching credential), and plans to shift his career in 2008 to becoming a teacher in the Sacramento area. His long term goal is to start a Doctorate program in education in late 2009 (he has already begun research on his dissertation and researching schools to attend for his doctorate, he just wants to take a break and get into teaching before this next chapter in his life). Life is awesome, and feel free to send a hello to Rich at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Our move went quite smoothly to Rocklin but we miss all our friends and family and our church family already. Please pray with us that we will find a new church body to worship in, that we may be a light in our neighborhood, and that we specifically will sell our house. Come and visit us soon. David, Pamela, Charissa and Cameron.

October 2004
Becky (Froines) Olivas sends her greetings and writes:
I and the family moved to Colorado Springs 7 months ago. I am currently working at a Retirement Community and enjoying it immensely. Anthony is a full time daddy and loves spending time with the kids and being so involved in their lives. Mark is in 3rd grade and Isaiah is in 2nd grade!
We are currently renting a 5 bedroom house which is a blessing indeed. Anthony promised the boys that if we had a yard we would get a dog. So ... now that we have a large front and back yard, we have a 5th member to the family. Tanner just turned 1 year old and is a beautiful Austalian Shepard mix we got from the Humane Society shortly after moving here. I included a picture of the boys (Mark is the one being silly on the left).
