The RCHS Class of 1981November 2006 Chris Brown writes - To catch you up a little. I'm married, Lisa and I just passed our 20 year anniversary. We met at Neighborhood Church and we've been together ever since. We don't have kids but we have 2 mini schnauzers that keep us busy away from work. As for work, nope not politics for me, I took a much more mundane route. After the internet crash a few years ago, we packed up and moved out to Boston where we settled in. We now live in a town of Boston called Charlestown. We actually live at the top of Bunker Hill, there's a plaque nearby about the battle and everything. I am currently the Manager of a large software engineering department at American Student Assistance. We do student loans, mostly in the Northeast. | | | | October 2006 An update picture from Karla (Jensen) Baker at the wedding of her mom. Included in the family picture are Leif Jensen (class of 79) with his family. The 2 cuties on the left are Karla's twins now age 5 1/2 Nicholas and Kristen-Grace. | | | | | | August 2006 Deborah (Nutter) Camp - After high school….I attended Biola University for 1.5 years and Westmont College for 2.5 years. Played Volleyball at both colleges, met my first husband Scott Camp at Westmont, married in 1985. Yes, this is the Scott Camp that was our Freshman Class President. After two boys and 11 years of marriage, we divorced in 1996. I remarried in 2001 to Craig Pruitt who played football and attended college at Azusa Pacific University with my two sisters Lisa and Karen. All five girls in my family run our family quartz business in Oakland CA. My boys are Scott (17) Jr. at Saint Joseph Notre Dame High in Alameda, and Mitchell (10) 4th grade public school . I enjoy shopping, cooking, decorating, wine collecting, travel and baseball. I still live in Alameda and love it! | | | | August 2006 Dan Mitchum - What have I been doing these past 25 years? I graduated from BIOLA and Dallas Theological Seminary. I got married 20 years ago this November (we’ll celebrate our anniversary in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands!). I moved to Pleasanton in 1990. I’m the senior pastor of a great church. I have two awesome (most of the time) kids: Alex is 14 and Gracie is 11. My hair is turning grey and my eye doctor says I’m a year away from bifocals. But, perhaps my greatest accomplishment is forgiving Judy for all the abuse she gave me in High School. | | | August 2006 Ray Miller - Well, where do I start? As with all of us, so much has happened the last 25 years. To begin, out of high school, I attended Chabot college for 2 years and about 1 year at Cal state Hayward, where I attained my AA in Fire Science. That degree landed me a great job in the grocery business, where I managed grocery stores for Alpha Beta, out of San Leandro and then took a job In San Francisco for a company called Cala Foods. I was in the grocey business for the better part of 12 years, when I figured out that I didn't want to have split days off for the rest of my career (Sunday and Wednesdays), so I went to work for a little company called Coca Cola.....perhaps a few of you have heard of it! I worked for Coca Cola for about 5 years, and was offered a job with another little company called Pepsi. For those of you that haven't heard of Coca Cola, you may have heard of Pepsi....chances are!!!! I worked with them for about 5 years and about 4 years ago established that I needed to work closer to home, and left Pepsi to go to work for a company in Lathrop called DCS inc. I am currently working as a production manager for DCS. Enough about work, in February my wife and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We have 4 kids, starting with my son Marcus which will be 20 in June. He is currently attending Delta college for his second year and is studying to be in law enforcement. My daughter Lisa, which is 18 is in her first year in college and is studying to become a nurse. We also have an 11 year daughter named Kirsten and an 8 year old named Marisa. Our family moved from Castro Valley to Stockton about 12 years ago, and have been out here ever since. For many years I was extremely active in coaching youth soccer and baseball, but stopped doing that about 5 years ago. Although, I still have a huge passion for coaching, the time just doesn't allow for it!! Our family attends a church called Calvary Community in Manteca, where I sing in the choir. (imagine that) It is a great church!! We look forward to seeing you all in June!! | | | | August 2006 Justine Mercado - I am happily working at my dream job as a set decorator at NBC on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno after a long stint on Days of our Lives for which I received 2 Emmy nominations for set decoration. Other than that, life is full with church , 2 goddaughters, family and friends. I decorate homes and do big parties and stuff also when I have time -- kind of like doing Spirit Week every day! | | | | August 2006 Tracy (McBurnett) Clark - I am married to Charlie Clark and have been living in Vacaville for 16 years. We will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in March. We have (1) dog, (1) cat, and lots of koi fish. I also have two step daughters and four grand boys! There ages are 1 1/2, 3, 6, & 8 years old. The three oldest boys and their mom live with Charlie and I in Vacaville. Never a dull moment in our home as you might imagine with three boys! In the past I have worked for several mortgage companies. Having been through 6 mergers over the last 15 years I have found a great home at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in Vacaville. I have been with Wells Fargo for 4 years and am a Senior Loan Officer. I am celebrating 15 years in my profession this month I have been living in Vacaville for the last 16 years. Lots of events have occurred in my life since graduating high school just as there have been with all of us. Probably the most life changing event was surviving breast cancer three years ago. I am healthy and happy. Everything is good. But it sure does change your outlook on life and having a lot more compassion for those around us who are not experiencing good health and a much better sense of humor! In a total of 14 months I had 10 surgeries, 4 months of chemo and a new head of hair! God has blessed me and my family more than words can express! Looking forward to seeing you all in the near future. Take care till our paths cross again! | | | | August 2006 Kathy (Mayo) Lee - I attended CSU Stanislaus (B.A.) and UOP (M.A.) with degrees in Speech Language Pathology, AKA Speech Therapist. I worked for 14 years all over the Bay Area treating the pediatric through geriatric populations. Then in 1993, I met my husband, Lance, while working at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward. Lance and I were married in 1996 and moved to Vallejo. It was a blessing to have worked for that time, because then I could spend the next portion of my life in a NEW career of being a wife and mother. I am now retired from "work" and enjoying our 4 children. I have 1 daughter and 3 sons -- ages from 6 yrs to 9 months old. Our life is pretty simple, taking care of the each other, our children and our home. I am homeschooling my daughter (1st grade) and son (preschool). We like to travel whenever we get a chance, especially to visit family in the Northwest and East Coast. I still sing in the church choir where we attend: Community Bible Church in Vallejo. | | | August 2006 Brett Klooster - I am married to Lee Ann Massey (class of 82). We have 4 children. My oldest is Brittany. She is 16 years old, attends Monte Vista High in Danville, Ca. She is a good student and a flyer for Monte Vista Cheer Varsity team. She also umpires for softball and is now driving. My second is Adam. He is 13 years old. He attends Diablo Vista middle school. He is a good student, but could do much better if he wanted to. He plays Baseball, Football, and Basketball and is very good at all 3. My next is Brooke who is 11 years old. She is the actress of the family and talented in the arts. She is part of Danville Girls Chorus (they are exceptionally good). My youngest is Jake. He is 8 years old and full of life. He plays soccer, sings in school chorus, and is starting to take the guitar. They keep us all busy. After college, I started work at a small company called Hewlett Packard. I was fortunate to have many careers at the same company. I started in production, went to automatic test, then computer repair, then test and measurement repair (mainly large semiconductor test systems), then marketing (mainly sales support), then support sales. Back in 1998, HP spun off anything that wasn’t related to computers called Agilent Technologies. Now we are currently carving out the semiconductor test portion of the business as a company called Verigy (this is why I am so busy). This is going to start on June 1. On top of this, I have a side business selling sport bags, packaging materials, and molded plastic products from China. I wish I had more time to invest in this business. I have now worked at HP/Agilent for 22 years and married for 21 years. Time just flies by. Jim Reis and I are still very close. His kids are family to my kids and we keep in touch. I have become part of the Reis Family (his dad has been a role model to me). God has been good to us all and we can’t complain (even though we do). Every so often I run into Melanie Davis (Cobb). Her kids are involved in youth football that plays against our San Ramon T-Birds (Brittany and Adam). Her son also plays baseball (Livermore) and attends tournaments in our area. We usually see them once per year. Other than Mel and Jim, I haven’t seen anyone. I will attend the reunion, but Lee Ann will probably not attend. I look forward to seeing everyone soon. | | | | August 2006 Faith Gross - After graduation from Redwood Christian High School, I went to Biola University and graduated with a B.A. in Communications. After graduating from Biola I worked in the corporate world at a large commercial real estate company in Southern California. I am currently now working at a privately owned real estate company as a Residential Realtor. My job keeps me very busy but I enjoy it a lot and it affords me the time to travel throughout the country and abroad. I live in Fullerton, California (close to Disneyland for those that are not familiar with Southern California) with my loveable cat (Schroeder). | | | | | August 2006 Ron Grosjean - 25 years have gone by so fast but so slow. The best years that I have had were my two years in Austria as a missionary with a group called International Teams. Imagine that, Ron Grosjean, a missionary. Yes, all the trouble I caused in HS was just an outward struggle I was having with Jesus. Once I became a believer (after High School, just your luck), I had to share His love with those closest to me and from there, my net just kept expanding. I found myself in Europe, spending time with people from displaced countries all around the world. You all remember the Bosnian War, well, I speak pretty good Serbo Croatian now. We saw tons of Bosnians, Africans, Iranians, Kurds, Eastern Europeans in general and of course, Austrians. Great years for me, though hard. That was 91' - 93'. I got married in 98', she left in 99' divorced in 00'. This means I get to pick again. I have no children. I have been working in the commercial carpet industry for ten years. I live in Pleasanton, near downtown. You are always welcome to visit! | | | | August 2006 Bruce Fong - Married (15yrs in Feb.) 2 boys 10/12. Live in Walnut Creek. Work in Oakland. http://www.rockdent.com/ Since it was only yesterday that my boys were 2 and 4, I spend most of my time trying to do whatever I can to get back home so that I can go to soccer, football, baseball, and basketball games, track and gymnastic meets and did I mention that we all work out together 3 times a week doing Kung Fu/Tai Chi? Oh yeah..then there's cello and trombone lessons. So last year I figured out that I can take time off when I want for the field trips too! Also... I am currently reading a book called "The Wisdom of Menopause" I miss you all and am looking forward to seeing everyone soon! | | | | August 2006 Bryce Enderlin - I have been a Cost Accountant/Analyst for many years and am currently a Cost Analyst at LeapFrog in Emeryville, CA. I am unmarried. I have three boys. Brandon age 21 (nope that's not a typo!), is still living with me and is into as little as possible. Justin age 16 and Blake age 13 live mostly with their mom in Discovery Bay, CA. Justin is into soccer and girls, but of course not in that order. Blake is into fishing, baseball, and video games (duh!), and is the only one that is still smaller than me, but not for much longer! When not working, chasing my boys, or playing soccer myself, I sleep (cause I need to). As far as a picture goes: All 50 states have outlawed this sort of display, so you'll just have to resort to my young, attractive, year book photo?!? | | | | | | August 2006 Tracy (Dix) Hargis - We, myself and my husband Kevin and son Brian, have finals this week. After I got married young and had two children and divorced and then married again and combined his and mine, we wound up with 3 children in total. All three have now graduated college, and my husband and I chose to continue our education. We are in an RN program and, just because we felt there was a need, have become EMTs on a volunteer ambulance crew. I had to laugh when Bruce, our old PE teacher said, “Quiet little blonde” lol. He's never seen me on the steps of the capitol with a bullhorn. I am also a big advocate for the homeless and work closely with Project Now to help our Every Child Needs a Home project. I have two grandchildren. Stormy is 12, and Kevin Lee III is 10. Both are wonderful. Kevin, my husband of 17 years, and I plan to retire as traveling nurses. Right now we are strapped college students and loving every minute of it. I am blessed with lots of different life experiences. I would not give one minute back -- bad or good. I wish I could be at the reunion. I would love to see you all again; however, I am in college. My husband is originally from Illinois, and that is where we landed. We live in one of those small towns where everyone knows your business, and if you happen to step sideways, the whole town knows in a matter of seconds. lol | | | August 2006 Becky (Dahlen) DeSeguirant - I live in the Redding area w/my husband, Chuck (I remarried in 2001) and my 3 kids--Kimberly (17), Daniel (15) and Benjamin (10). Back 25 years ago (ouch!) I dreamed of becoming a writer. I suppose I should've been more specific on that one though...I've done a lot of writing (I just hadn't envisioned it to be in the form of CHECKS). Such is life w/ 2 teens and a 10 yr. old convinced he's the next "Luke Skywalker!" I work part-time @ an outpatient diagnostic imaging facility but plan to begin playing the "lotto" regularly to end the madness. Below Daniel and Becky. Left Chuck. Below right Benjamin, Daniel, Kimberly | | | | | | | August 2006 Jess Bonds - After graduation, I went to Biola and graduated with a B.A. in English. Later, I went to CSU Stanislaus for my M.A. in English (who'd have thunk it?) I met my wife, Kim, at Biola. We live near Valley Springs, Ca, with our son, Clint (16) and daughter, Jessika (13). Our lives are populated with two dogs, seven cats, twenty-five chickens, and a horse (sometimes two). Like Eric (see below), we live on five acres, keeping us busy mending fences (good fences make good neighbors). Currently, I work as the dean of instruction at Humphreys College in Stockton. Kim and I will be celebrating our 22nd anniversary this June. | | | | Here's the Bonds clan, living on the edge. (Left to right: Jessika, Clint, Kim | Here I am taking over for Pres. Bush at the 2003 State of the Union address. As you can see, Mr. Bush was feeling ill (So ill, in fact, that he looks like Tom Brokaw). Since I was fortunate enough to write about a third of the speech, VP Cheney and Speaker Hastert compelled me to finish the presentation. No need to go into all the details since you probably saw it live. | | | | | August 2006 Renee (Bond) Nashlund - I live with my husband, Gregg, and 4 daughters, in Portland-since 1985. My oldest daughter, Kristina, is 20 (a junior at OSU); Anissa is 17, Kylie is 15, and Jessica is 8. I have been homeshcooling since 1990, with the girls attending public high school. I also have a small daycare business, so there are usually baby toys and highchairs out most of the time. But I love little kids, so it is a good fit for me. We also have many pets, and a revolving front door, so our household stays pretty busy! Right now I see my main job as "holding down the fort" at home, cooking, carpooling, and keeping track of everyone's events. It's a pretty typical stay-at-home mom kind of routine. We have been very involved in our church for about 14 years, but we just left it and are looking for a new church. It has been very unsettling to make that change, but we are trusting the Lord to lead us to a new place. | | | | | August 2006 Terri (Bohman) Biondi - I graduated with a BA in English from Cal State Hayward (before it became CSEB). I have been married since 1990 to my husband Paul and we have two sons; Kyle, 12 and Connor, 6. B.C. (before children), I was an escrow officer with various title companies. Currently, I enjoy a more rewarding and less stressful career as stay-at-home Mom. My husband and I both suffer from Volunteeritis and are usually involved in several community affairs at once. Currently, I am Head Room Mom of our first-grader's class and Treasurer of our swim club. In between running our sons to various sports practices, art classes and music lessons, I enjoy walking, scrap-booking, bunco, and date night. I am still living in Castro Valley about 3 blocks from where I grew up. | | | | August 2006 Lois (Barnett) McWattersI am living in Murrieta, CA with my husband of 21 years and our 3 children, Krystal, Cameron and Tyler. I am working for Teleflex Medical as a Systems Manager, commuting back and forth between Southern CA and RTP, NC. | | | | August 2006 Karla (Baker) Jensen - I am living in Paradise - (honestly)! I am married - and a stay at home - raising our twins who are almost 5 years old. I spent 13 years in law enforcement and 1 year at Wente Vineyards before "retiring" to Paradise, Ca. We come back to the bay area once a month - and hope to be back there full time one day. I enjoy traveling and my golf handicap (pre twins) got down to an 11. Games, photo's and mystery shopping fill up my free time. My husband is a stock broker/financial advisor. I look forward to seeing everyone next summer! | | | | | | | August 2006 The Class of 1981 had a wonderful time at the 25th Reunion get-together. Check out the pictures at http://tiffany.smugmug.com/gallery/1738021. Time flies, doesn't it? |
April 2005
Wayne and Beth (Willis) Vereb welcomed Kaitlin Marie on Dec. 16, 2004, weighing in at 8 lbs. 11 oz. and 21.5 inches long. She was a big girl then and is still pretty good sized. She is off the charts in height and above average weight.
